Stuffed, Anna Maria, & Weekend Projects

I picked up the latest issue of Stuffed the other day and it's filled with the cutest little softies ever.

I am not a plushy maker by all means I tried it once and failed, but it's fun to look at and the kids like the pictures.
I of course loved the Alice art dolls

This one I may attempt though. The Coraline mini-me.

 

Some projects I have planned for this weekend is making use of old baby clothes and a bag for a friend.
I found some good ideas in I believe Green Craft for baby clothes. I just cant see myself making one of those baby quilts like most people do. I never seem to finish any quilts I start.

 

A lot of my fabric is in storage but I have a few Flea Market Fancy fat quarters out so I will probably do that patchwork bag from Sew Sunny Homestyle.

 

I love Flea Market Fancy. I should have gotten more of it when I had the chance.

Have you noticed all the good fabric about to be released? I am especially keen to Anna Maria's new line "Little Folks"

I need THIS whole collection.

Vintage Fabric Loot

 

I decided to take the day off work today and moseyed over to Franklin for some fabric shopping therapy.

We went to "Rosemary's" which is a little farm house filled with vintage fabric. She doesn't have a website or take credit cards which made it hard for me to choose what I wanted to leave with. I only had $14.00 on me so I wasn't able to get too much. Still, I think I did pretty good.

One piece I purchased was this sweet little patchwork print. I have no idea the name of it but think it would make great little potholders or coasters.

Tiny little mushrooms.  :)

Really old looking Alice in Wonderland fabric....with Humpty Dumpty on it....

 

What am I going to make with this folk fabric??? Help me crafty people. I was thinking maybe potholders or something.......?

Sick + Online Fabric Shopping = A Log Cabin Block

I have been sick and unable to take time off work so it's put me back on things I was going to do this week. I am behind on shipping out multiple fabric/items to people so I really apologize if you are expecting something from me. I'll be making a Post Office run tomorrow though so you all should be receiving your items soon. 

I was supposed to be working on one of the 3 halfway done quilts laying around, but instead decided to begin a new one tonight.

I think I have quilt A.D.D. or something. I start a new quilt project excited and motivated, but after the top is 80% finished I take a break, then start a working on a new one a few weeks later.

The new quilt is going to be log cabin blocks out of Japanese fabric. I have one block done and hopefully can work on some more next week.

Heidi fabric I purchased from Kitty Craft.

I am not sure what happened to Kitty Craft. They have been on vacation for months now.

I keep checking back hoping they have re-opened but no luck.  :(

It was such an awesome fabric website too.

I also used some of my coveted Shinzi Katoh deer/mushroom fabric.

 

I have been hoarding this fabric since Christian was only a few months old.

I enjoy log cabin patchwork because it's such a great way show off different prints. I have been thinking of actually turning it into a pillow just so it will be complete and not laying around my WIP pile for months.

We are headed to DollyWood this weekend even though I feel awful. I just hope I make it back in one piece. Listening to Dolly Parton sing in a hot park all day with a headache makes me feel even more nauseous. We have had the tickets though since May so I am going to try to make the best of this trip.

Packages Of Fabric

So I have been a little absent around here lately. Unfortunately for those of you that do not know I am in the middle of a divorce/separation. It has been raining on my creativity none the less as you can imagine. I am not dwelling on it though and am trying to look ahead. A package from Kat and JB came at a perfect time. I will have to get some more photos uploaded but since I am using internet from an Amazing Savings store right now it's going too slow to upload them. I was turned away at Barnes and Noble and Starbucks since they make you pay now to use their wireless. I can't wait to go back home next weekend. This scrounging around for internet is a joke.

Good Folks Have Arrived!!

Look what came to my work today!!!

I am typing this from the coffee shop since I haven't been home all week. I just wanted to do a quick post and pop in to a couple blogs to say hello. :)
I'll be posting more of this fabric Saturday and hopefully something I made with it.

Fabric Day

Today was pretty good for a Monday. I almost have my homework done and I got lots of yummy new fabric in the mail. I am saving some for Sunday Stash but I can post a few photos of a couple prints I got from Japan.

 I love all the little animals scattered throughout the fabric. Here is the best picture I could get of them since it's always dark when I get home.



The name of it according to Nuno Plus is Enchanted Forest. They also gave me a fat quarter of this cute little print below by Nakamura. It's wonderful. I love the little coffee cup and cupcakes in the circles.

All I need to do now is figure out what to make with them. I was thinking a pillow but no one will see it then so maybe a zip pouch or wallet. I have at least the rest of the week to figure it out.  :)

Fabric Shopping Bust

I took another Friday off in hopes for some fabric shopping. All I wound up with though was a bag of Moda scraps.

Now these are lovely scraps mind you and 42 strips about the size of a jelly roll for only 9 dollars is a really good deal. I just always come out of this one fabric shop with almost 100 dollars worth of fabric and this time didn't see one single print I wanted. I was honestly disappointed at the fact no one around here seems to carry designer prints anymore. Have I seen any Amy Butler, Anna Maria, Tina Givens, or any of the other popular fabric designer collections lately? No.

Anyway I did get some awesome buttons at an antique store among some other trinkets I'll later post photos of. Right now I am off to attempt some slippers from a pattern by Amy.

Strip Tease!

Get your minds out of the gutter people. I got my little prize bag from Robert Kaufman...yesterday...
Did I even say I won one on here yet? I don't know, things have been crazy these past couple weeks. Life's looking up though because my chemistry class is OVER!! I took my final today and am so happy I could give away a fat quarter bundle. Which I will on here this weekend. Anyway back to the post, here is my little bag I got from Robert Kaufmans "Strip Tease" giveaway.

Please note these are definitely not my usual color/pattern choices when it comes to fabric. I like bright cheery colors and pink. However it was free and I am not going to complain about it. Besides I may be able to use those greens for some Christmas projects.



I had to take the photos of this in my car this afternoon at lunch so the pictures are awful. That's why there is text books underneath them too. I hope when I get my new camera it will make even photos in the car with overcast weather look good. The ole Powershot just isn't doing the job anymore.
