I got a new sewing book last week, 500 Quilt Blocks by Lynne and Kerry. I really love it and have already started on the blocks.
It's a perfect little (and I mean it really is a small book about 6x6) packed with wonderful quilt blocks along with some variations to each one.
My first block was block 1 - Basket Weave
I used Collage and a Japanese fabric for the block. It turned out really interesting with all the text and lines.
My other block was further in the book because I love seeing all the modern maple quits and wanted to learn how to do it.
Meet the Maple Leaf.
I LOVE this block. I used Sunnyside, Road 15, and Bluebird Park for it. I could see myself making a whole quilt with these colors and prints.
So I would definitely recommend 500 Quilt Blocks. Even for non quilters there are other projects inside that you can use blocks for such as potholders, tote bags, pillows, etc. Plus it's visually appealing with the fun fabric used. :)
This book has been nagging at me to purchase :)
Following all your blogs now. I love your little shop!
Thanks so much for the nice comments on my blog also!
