Happy December!
Has anyone started making Christmas presents yet? I am nearing the end of my handmade gift to do list.
I've been working on this quilt the past couple of weeks for my mom. It really is a quick little quilt project using my favorite pre-cut ever..A JELLY ROLL!!
I'm not one to pick favorites but I just love how these 2 blocks came together:
I think I like them so much because of the white fabric bordering the darker 4 patch. I may do another one of these and dip into my ever growing low volume stash.
All in all with the multiple distractions I had this part didn't take too long. I am sure it could be done in a few hours one day if you could sew non stop.
The only thing I have left to do is figure out the border fabric then quilt & bind it. I am using a black tone on tone chevron for the back and a red print for the binding. I'm debating on either some Bonnie and Camille stripe or their little scallop print. I'll have to see what looks good once I get the border on. Red is an iffy color to match.
I hope to be done with this next weekend. I went to Joanns and picked up some batting today but am going to take a break the rest of the weekend from pretty much anything productive. I felt bad not doing a black Friday or cyber Monday fabric sale but I had so much to do...like buy fabric from other people and join some more Craftsy courses. They are all 19.99 or less right now and I may get another one or two before the sale is done. I have so many in my wishlist.
I'll be back soon with some of my fabric purchases this weekend. :)
